This classic Charleston single-side house plan design retains the great room in its original location. However, we decided to give the remainder of the house an extensive remodeling. We moved the stairway so that it originates conveniently near the kitchen and keeping room, the hub of family life. Between the kitchen and the great room, we've planned space for a computer, or if the owners prefer, this area could be utilized either as a bar or a large pantry.
The first floor master suite is a frequently requested feature; the owners will appreciate the extra-spacious closet. On the second floor, there are three bedrooms, each having its own private bath. The front bedroom is extra-spacious and could serve as a dual master suite for parents who need to be on the same floor level with small children for a few years. Please note the large and versatile sitting area which opens onto the second floor porch.
On the third level, we've found ample space for an exercise or hobby area, as well as another bedroom and bath. This bedroom opens onto the third floor balcony.
This plan is ideal for for a large or recently expanded family, with a total of five bedrooms, five and a half baths, and three distinct living areas.
